- Buy damage-free hanging strips or hooks such as Command Strips, which will not permanently mark the walls.
- Arrange pictures in a group or gallery wall, sketching the layout prior to hanging. This creates an attractive and cohesive display.
- Use a measuring tape or ruler and lightly mark the corners of the pictures to be hung; measure how far the hanging wire on the back of the picture is from the top of the frame and mark both spots in pencil on the wall.
- Keep the distance the same between the pictures–for example, they should all be anywhere from one inch to three inches between frames.
- Use a level to make sure that the pictures are hanging straight and are properly aligned.
